"It's the way we sing that makes 'em dream." - Ed Kowalczyk Singing in the shower, or in the privacy of your car, is easy. It's getting out there in public and doing it that freezes our gut and makes us forget much of what we've learned... VOCAL COACHING Vocal coaching is for those who want (or need) a little help with their singing but don't want to commit to a full course of voice lessons. Maybe you have a special event coming up - you have a solo at a friend's wedding, or an anniversary party, or at church or...whatever! All you need is a little help - either in choosing music, preparing it, warding off stage-fright, or working on your stage presence. Maybe you have a specific vocal issue to handle - breathing, effective phrasing, dynamics, pronunciation and/or enunciation of words, vowels, etc. Coaching allows you to meet with me as needed for as short or as long a time frame as necessary to accomplish your goals.
Private Sessions
Private sessions are scheduled for 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending upon your needs and the amount of music you wish to prepare. We will meet in a free initial consultation to discuss your particular needs and how I might be able to help you with them.
Small Group Classes
Small group classes of 3-8 students allow for a less intense but still satisfyi ng coaching experience. Typically, we begin with the class learning the same song and working individually to overcome personal challenges and make the song each student's unique performance. Group classes can be scheduled as a series of 1-2 hour sessions, or can be a half-day or full-day workshop. This is a fun way for a group of friends to improve their musicianship and vocal abilities, and allows for a great deal of flexibility in what specific musical topics or issues are addressed. | "Every child, woman, and man should posess license to speak or sing in his or her true voice." - Joyce Maynard "No opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible." - W. H. Auden (1907-1973) "I don't sing because I'm happy - I'm happy because I sing." - William James (1842-1910) | "What is the point of singing wonderful lyrics if the audience can't understand what is being said?" - Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) "I sing like I feel." - Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996) "The singing that comes from your heart will echo in the ear of your son and live on in your people." - The Dausi, Soninke (Sudan) |
